What greater love has anyone that he would give his life for someone else especially when he knows he'll get resurrected in 3 days as 2nd in command of the universe.

I remember a call saying that they didn't feel Jesus' sacrifice was all that as he was going to get resurrected anyway. Obviously I tried to argue the other way at the time.
The gentleman is certainly to be commended: no one has greater love than to give his life on behalf of his friends... and that is what he was willing to do. Many are willing to do the same. But it is not the same as with the Christ: he gave his life for his friends... and his enemies, including the very people that put him to death. I'm thinking that while the first is truly noble and worthy... the latter is much... much... harder.

I doubt he knew he'd be resurrected. That is why the military goes for the dumb, young and full of cum age bracket.
But it would be nice if we all get ressurected.
