Chapel? Choir? Are these our JW's?
Actually, in my city there are several old Kingdom Halls that
have been sold. One is a Sihk Temple, one belongs to the Ba'hai,
and one is a union hall. The demons must be having a field day,
desecrating these once sacred buildings, especially in the union hall. -

Well, the article said the old house "backed hard up against a rockwall" i guess that made escaping from the backroom pretty hard and this sentence worried me: "... and, because it's been modernised, you get the best of both worlds - old and new." mmm lol.
The Grade 11 listed property is believed to be up to 150 years old, with the rear standing flush into the cliff rock face. Apart from offering luxurious accommodation for a couple or single person, it is also close to Bridgnorth's market town centre with its numerous shops, pubs and restaurants, enjoys lovely views of the River Severn and is within walking distance of the beautiful Memorial Grounds and Severn Valley Railway.
Geez, it sounds way too classy to be used as a Kingdom Hall for Jehovah's Laterday Witnesses. Besides, aren't arched windows, bidets and fluted colums works of the devil!? As for the breakfast kitchen - what a joke - I never got to eat at a Kingdom Hall even at Jesus passover the plate time.The accommodation is very spacious and unusual, and enhanced by natural light flooding in through three large, arched top windows, which give splendid views down towards the meandering river. Other special features include a very large, galleried mezzanine bedroom and high ceilings.
The most unusual feature is the huge mezzanine master bedroom which, at 27ft by nearly 13ft dominates the upper floor.
'We think it was probably in existence when it was a chapel, maybe used for the choir, and we love it because it has a view of the lounge and feels very spacious,' said Skally, who works for her family's car sales business.
The room is part bounded by balustrading with a handrail, and has an arched window to the side, painted hardwood Carolina-style door, coved ceiling, central heating radiators with thermostats and painted panelled doors into a dressing room/study/second bedroom. This room measures 13ft by nearly 5ft and has a side aspect and roof access (which could possibly be converted into further bedroom accommodation having once had planning consent), while the ensuite shower room is fully tiled, with a white suite and electric shaver point.
The ground floor accommodation is just as lovely and comprises a living/dining room, a breakfast kitchen and a luxury ground floor bathroom/dressing room.
You enter Old Kingdom Hall via an arched canopy porch with hanging lantern, into the equally impressive through living/dining room. This features three original chapel arched windows to the front, a ceiling rose, deep coved ceiling, downlighters, Living Flame coal-effect gas fire set in a marble fireplace and hearth with decorative timber fire surround with fluted columns and timber mantelshelf.
The room is large enough to have a dining table in it, and it has stairs off leading up to the overlooking bedroom.
'This is a lovely place to sit and relax in. It has these fantastic windows, high ceiling and great views over the river and Severn Valley,' said Skally.
The breakfast kitchen is also a good size, fitted with hand-painted units, ceramic tiled work surfaces, Neff twin gas hob with electric hotplate and recycling extractor fan, one-and-a-half bowl composite sink unit and upright unit housing a built-in freezer and oven. Nice finishing touches include stencilled designs, solid timber lipping and leaded and glazed display cabinets.
From the living room, a door leads into the bathroom/dressing room, complemented by recessed downlighters, coved ceiling, ceramic tiling, fitted suite - including bath and telephone-style shower attachment and bidet - and full height sliding mirror doors opening into built-in wardrobes with hanging rails and fitted shelving.
'The ground floor bathroom is luxurious and lovely - all cream and gold with mahogany fittings and a very pretty scalloped sink, and the mirrored wardrobes make the room seem so much bigger,' says Sally.
Outside is a pretty enclosed side garden, with a paved patio and steps rising to a further sitting area with views towards the High Rock. This patio can be accessed from the bedroom and has patio furniture and splendid views.
The property is approached from Castle Walk, with St Mary's Steps leading down to Old Kingdom Hall. A decorative wrought iron gate opens from the footpath on to a paved patio, in turn leading to the front door.
There is no parking space outside the house, so Skally and Paul park in East Castle Street, just up St Mary's Steps.
The couple are now looking to move to a bigger property in the area. Skally said: 'This place is ideal for a young professional couple or a single person or a psycophatic scitzoid xjw cult freak looking for a one bedroom house on a hill. It's grand and has a country house style, without being as expensive.'

PS: I remember sending our Hall Building Commitee into aperplexy by daring to sugest we incorporate leadlight windows in the design. (apparently Satan loves art deco too ;)
PSS: My old kingdom Hall is now a Salvation Army storehouse. Looks like all those old demonised clothes are where they wanted to be afterall.

my sister lives in an old former KH. their bed room is built upon what was the platform ...too funny..things happening there that brothers only dreamed of!!!
