It's sad we have no newbies joining anymore. I miss them. It must be very frustrating for people who have just discovered this site and can't join. I hope the new sites get established quickly so newbies have a place to go.

I was lucky enough to find this site 4 years ago. Since then I've been here almost every day.
I feel so bad for the newbies, they missed out on the best forum ever.
I doubt there will be another one this good, and I probably won't be joining another one after this one is gone because of that.

All the newbies have seen the links to the other sites.
If they don't follow the Detour signs, it's their fault.
Fortunately, I found this site in 2007, giving me enough time to become a Supreme One the hard way (not the accelerated way of having post requirements divided by 10). True, this site has been the best one I have seen and may well be until one or more of the new ones becomes mature.
I never noticed until you mentioned it. We need to turn the newbies back on.

I'd like to second the idea that new members can still join.
That way if someone has missed the detours they can ask.
A notification in registration that the site will be ending soon would be sufficient surely?

How do you know that? I think Simon said site will be open till the end of the year if I'm not mistaken.
Yes it is to remain open, but new registrations have been locked. It is unfortunate, and I miss the newbies too, but the reasons for the lock are valid, all things considered.
