*** Revisions in the "Bible Teach Book" - Can anyone verify?

  This email is making the rounds. Can't imagine why they need to make these changes but there you go...

  1) See the picture on page 59. It is a candle...It is different from
  the original printing (no smoke) this is better in that given the
  material subject matter it does not give rise to any kind of afterlife
  as some believe. (smoke ascending) Nice adjustment. So are we using
  the smoking addition or the non-smoking one?

  2) Paragraph 15 at the top of page 81 second sentence: 'Satan caused
  Adam and Eve to sin, and that delayed the fulfillment of God's will for
  the earth but did not change it.' The adjusted addition changes the word
  'delayed' to affected. Think about this... 'delayed' could afford Satan
  some measure of power and we can't have that. No one has power over
  Jehovah!

  3) Page 6 shows a picture of a Bible study being conducted with a
  Require brochure..not anymore! The adjusted version shows the Bible
  Teach book. Simple.

  Question - has the Require Brochure exceeded its usefulness?

  Of course not! I remember going on a study with this brochure

  - there was nothing in the Require Brochure about:

  1 - Brothers wearing beards

  2 - Meeting the monthly National Average of hours in field service

  So if I "delay" Jehovah's purpose, I have power over him. But if I "affect" his purpose, that is somehow different?

  I don't get it. If I "delay" a train's on-time arrival, or "affect" it, isn't it going to be late either way?

  Gotta love the micromanagement of the subtleties of precise word selection, while quotations are taken out of context willy-nilly.

  In their publications they'll happily micro-manage issues like those stated above, but happily print abominations where Christ is replaced by the 'faithful and discreet slave". They really have no shame in pushing their agenda through their publications.
