I was ready to pee in my pants, seeing that this talk was going to blow the lid off.

well, the brother did admit that "we" have made predictions that did not come true.

but, he excused the watchtower saying that many religions, make false prediction.

only JW's show the fruits of god's people.

amongst many reasons, this circular JW reasoning made us look like we are the shining star of the world

How can they continue this charade? I mean, really?

I have no idea on how they can get to the conclusion that "we are good" because others are wrong.

Made some bad predictions? Well, those other religions that make bad predictions do not force their members to believe them without questioning them. Nor do they expect people to sell out because of the end being within a couple of years, only to blame the members when the end doesn't come and they end up in severe hardship.

As for the fruitages of God's spirit? You mean repression, stagnation, and non-fulfillment? Stifled desires (of the totally natural type at that)? Confused, biased, or just plain wrong views on morality? Justifying God killing people that simply will not cater to His senseless and stifling rules? To me, that is the true fruitage of God's spirit.

On top of the fruitages unique to the witlesses--protecting pedophiles and silencing the victims? Systematic abuse of children in other ways? Keeping children up past their bedtimes on school nights? No independent research? No education beyond the high school level? Poverty and stagnation? Always being tired and in a rush to get to a boasting session or field circus? To me, it is not worth displaying those fruitages. Instead, I would rather have the fruitage of the flesh--fulfillment of those desires with which I was born.

Not biblical reasoning at all. Could tear that line of thought so easily!

What still gets me, is that when I was still 'in' I would accept that reasoning as gospel, and not give it another thought. Conditioning of the mind.... I am going to see my JW parents soon, and I can just see them gloating that they are right and I am deluded with my thinking.

along the fruits of the spririt, the brother mentions that we promote family values, promote family togetherness.

I was about to scream "what about the 1/2 in our hall that is divorced?"

"what about the people here without their non-witless other?"

"what about the family members that are shunned?"

"what about my cousin that years ago was thrown out of the home by witless dad, and turned to a life of drugs?, his wife overdosed?"

watchtower promotes hate, and petty tattletailing
