Trying to replace an oil pan gasket on a 1992 3.0 6 cyl. Two came in the package, do you need to use one or both?

How many old gaskets did you remove?

Just guessing, but I have to think they accidentally put two gaskets in the package.

Yeah you only need to use one.

It happens quite a bit with parts. There's another box out there somewhere with no gasket in it, I garantee you. I see stuff like that alot. Misboxed parts, too few or too many parts in the box, even cores and defects put back on the shelf.

You don't HAVE to use either one, many Toyotas come from the factory with RTV sealing the oil pan to the bottom of the engine, no gasket at all.

I used to be a quality assessor at the UK's Toyota factory.

Although i can tell you where every spot weld is on the Avensis and Corolla i know nothing of gaskets.

If anyone wants to buy a Lexus don't until you PM me first. They are just Toyota's in drag, ran down the same line and everything.
