It's amazing when I think back as to how publishers viewed the "glorious ones". You were viewed with an esteem that you would never have gotten, had an announcement not been made. One week your a helper, a Ministerial Servant, taking orders. The next week, you're "one of the boys". And the congregation follows suit in adulation----even if they didn't give you the time of day before the announcement!
I guess it's simply human nature for folks to want to be on the most popular side.

"Elder Lover?" - no. On the other hand, as an elder I had plenty of ass-kissing, although, I was not looking for it.
I loved my husband when he was an elder and when he wasn't an elder. But I was not a kiss-ass type of person when it can to elders. I knew too much of the dark secrets.
