Do JW know the difference between "the truth" and BS?

Fear keeps Jehovah's Witnesses accepting BS from the Watchtower Society. They have no other choice! If they leave the organization that means the same as death to them, and more fear of losing everything and everyone important to them. In the Douglas Walsh court case, it was admitted in court by Hayden Covington, that even if a JW knows a doctrine is false, they MUST accept it or be disfellowshipped!

Fear is the key word!

Why do they say it is very sad that you left the truth?

In many cases Jw's don't know the difference because of the mind control. Others know but don't do anything about it because they have too much to lose.

First, "the truth" is a phrase in the peculiar vocabulary jws use....some find it hard to drop even after making a deliberate choice to leave the WTS.

Some know that they are not getting the facts but are 1) too lazy to investigate or 2) too scared of the repercussions. Some feel that ignorance is bliss.

When I was in, I had no other sources of information. However, I realized by the way the Washtowel Slaveholdery was giving out crap advice (that is, advice that made problems worse or created new ones instead of solving existing ones), plus that God Himself was doing everything to keep me celibate at all costs, I decided (1) God was nothing more than an Almighty Lowlife Scumbag that is not worth worshiping, and (2) I would be better off out of the Washtowel no matter whether or not they were the truth.

And now I have the alternative sources, and see how stupid the witlesses are.
