Update on my neice

A few weeks ago I posted that my neice was having doubts about the org. I haven't said too much to her since then, not sure which way she would go with it, but last night I found out.

I met her for dinner and she invited a couple from her hall to go with us. During the course of the evening, "the Truth" came up, of course. We got on the subject of shepherding calls and she said that she had one a couple of weeks ago. I could tell that they must have gotten to her because she was totally different.

I don't think that she will turn me in, she said she understands why I feel the way I do with all of the crap I've gone through the past 10 years, but she doesn't want me to give up because, in her words, "where else would you go, who else has the truth?"

That's an easy question to answer! Peter said "You (Jesus) have sayings of everlasting life." So your niece needs to follow Peter's lead. She's in the wrong place!

    Cheers,
    Ozzie

    Tweetie:
Remember that people will tend to vacillate on this. It’s an important decision made even more so by the importance (false or no) that is placed on membership. Time alone will tell.

Can you speak freely to her? (I’m wondering if you’re da’d or df’d.) If you are able to speak to her then gently prod her. Remember that, as a witness, she simply craves to ‘witness’. Question her very gently, don’t push and then leave it for a while. When the roots go deep you have to pull very carefully.

Frenchy, I am neither da'd or df'd. I occasionally go to the meetings to keep family happy. You may be right about her changing her mind again, time will tell. She knows that she can discuss anything with me. I can't afford to push it right now, though. I have to keep a low profile.

You're in a good position to help, then. I wish you well on your endeavors.
