Is anyone planning to see this http://www.americancarol.com/ ? I'm looking forward to it. It should be funny.

Just what America needs -- more political rancor. Yep, Michael Moore and those elite liberals really must hate America. Charles Dickens must be spinning in his grave at this appropriation of his Christmas Carol.

It appears to be a lame attempt by "conservatives" to turn back the tide swinging towards progressivism and away from conservative Republicanism. Enjoy it though.

So you would agree that Oliver Stone's movie "W" is not really "needed" and should not be released until after the elections? Is "W" just a lame attempt by some leftist to cash in on strong anti-Bush sentiment? Is Stones greed justification to make and release this now? How about Mahr's "Religuluos?" Is that, in you opinion, more political rancor? Is it needed? SNL will not doubt feature more very funny (I do find the skits funny) bits at the expense of Sarah Palin, John McCain, and the right in general? Will that be thought provoking humor or not needed rancor?

    Enjoy all of it though.

Hmmm... I'll take these one at a time.

Religulous -- is not political rancor. It's about religion. Next...

"W" -- Everyone knows to take Stone with a grain of salt. I did wonder why he's rushing to get this movie out before the election -- perhaps as a counterpoint to An American Carol? Bush is already a terribly unpopular president, with the lowest approval ratings of anyone leaving that office. So "W" doesn't really change anything about the upcoming election -- which to the McCain/Palin camp is about THEM and THEIR brand of change, not about Bush.

I saw a preview of "W" and it didn't look rancorous to me. If anything it humanizes Bush, Cheney, Rice and the others -- showing their joy and humanity even as they are having a hard time governing. I don't see "W" as an attack -- because no attack on Bush is needed at this point. The water is already over the dam.

However -- American Carol does try to influence the election, falsely painting Michael Moore and liberal/progressives as America haters.

I think we of all persuasions love America, we just have different ways of expressing it.

I'm not really a fan of Michael Moore, myself, but there doesn't seem to be a lot of substance to this, just potshots. A better film to see would be a documentary called "Manufacturing Dissent".

Oh right. I forgot. The leftist Mahr would never make a religious connection to the right. One never, ever hears someone connecting religion and the right. Religion - right - religion - right. No connection ever made. Especially 5 or so weeks before an election. I bet I will never hear anybody connect religion and the right between now and election day. How stupid of me to even suggest that Mahr's religion movie could be considered political.

I'll go see Mahr's movie and W also. Will have to see how unbiased Stone was. In the mean time, Gophers 10, Indiana 7. Go Gophers!
