    Hi Atlantis and Jaydee,

I appreciate your thanks. You will be interested to know there have been more than 60 downloads so far!

Thanks for your enquiry about me. I am keeping ok, but life is lonely without the girl I shared my life with for 46 years. The friendships here are a great help to me.

    Regards,

He says 605BC for the invasion of Jerusalem... I thought it was 585?

    Hi Dawg,

Thiele actually says that 605 BC was the year of Nebuchadnezzar's "first seizure" of Jerusalem. This occurred during the early years of Jehoiakim's reign.

Immediately after Nebuchadnezzar defeated Necho at Carchemish in 605 BCE, he was told of his father's death and rushed back to Babylon to claim the throne. Jerusalem suffered at the hands of several raiders (2 Kings 24:1-2) at that time, including Babylon. This is the period that Thiele is talking about.

The history of the time is most intriguing, which includes the end of the Assyrians in 609 BCE, the decline of Egypt, the placement of the king of Judah by a foreign power, the rise to dominance of Babylon, and the death of Josiah.

    Could Thiele's letter be reposted?

Didn't Thiele write more than one letter concerning Ptolemy and the WTS?

A Zip file containing all of Thiele's correspondence would be useful.
