Those words have been spoken to me a bunch of times by Bethelites. Some of you on here try to reason with JW's by showing us how our reasoning is wrong, I do the same thing.
What I forget is that whenever I used to hear a teaching or a decision that didn't make sense, IT THEN BECAME "HOLY SPIRIT" WORKING.
When a brother was appointed to serve as an elder that seemed unqualified, I used to love to say, "Wow, that decision seemed weird, but now I can see how Holy Spirit was working." Or when a brother was asked to leave Bethel, we would say, "well that is Holy Spirit working, Jehovah has other things in store for him." When I was first there, I used to complain about some things, I remember I requested a fridge for my room. But then I learned that Jehovah was teaching me patience by having me wait for a fridge.
So with the rumor that some are rebelling against being asked to leave Bethel, to a JW, that doesn't make any sense at all. JW's feel that the Holy Spirit is behind everything, so my friends that left Bethel after 22 years said, "Wow we are so happy that Jehovah is blessing us by giving us a field assignment."
Or like when that brother died at the assembly, all JW's said, "Well, that's Holy Spirit, Jehovah wanted him to die at the assembly faithful. Isn't that great?"
When I was working at Bethel in New York, we used to talk for hours about how Bethel is always changing and growing. When the GB changed all the departments and they started the "United States Branch Committee" I was very excited to see how now all countries had a branch committee, even the U.S. But if they changed that and said, "Well, the GB is centrally located, so they are the ones who direct things from the U.S. There is no need for a "United States Branch Committee". I would have been excited about that too.
When I would be back to my foreign assignment, I was so excited to get letters from New York Bethel. I was so nervous when I would meet with the branch committee in my missionary assignment. I could relate everything they said to Holy Spirit. I remember once brother Jaracz visiting the branch, and we as missionaries were invited for dinner. We got all dressed up. He toured the branch, they had 38 bethelites, and all the bethelites were so excited because he showed such personal interest. He asked every single one of them to define their work duties, A couple of weeks later, 10 bethelites were reassigned outside the branch as pioneers. The others received more work.
No one complained, they all said, "Wow, the GB came here to visit us and to make us more useful. Amazing, Holy Spirit is amazing."
When you are in, you just get excited about everything. That is, until you are the one that is burned....then you start to think.....
