They shouldn't, but that just makes more elbow room for the true children.

Been to to lots of places both as a Witness and a non-witness. I gave a talk as a 16 year old precocious young JW at a Methodist church. Have visited cathedrals, Hindu and Sheik temples and Moslem mosques. JWs fail to understand that religion is about a personal relationship with God and not with physical location.

I don't know if the Mormons qualify as pagans or not. But when I was a kid we went on a family vacation to Utah. When we were in Salt Lake City, one of the stops on the agenda was Temple Square. We went because it was part of Utah history and was set up for tourists. Kind of weird really, since we never did go see Bethel. We were from the west coast and you could drive to Utah a lot easier than to New York.

What about those round pit rooms in the old Peublo ruins in Colorado and New Mexico. I have been to so many as a child, I couldn't count them all.

How about Wal-Mart. All of those pagan celebrations, with their pagan symbolism. All sold by Wal-Mart!!!!! Such as Halloween. You can't go down many aisles that don't have something related to that ultra pagan holiday. (Which by the way, I spent $20.00 at Walmart, buying some of that pagan fun stuff.

I once went camping with a JW and her unbelieving husband to Big Bend National Park in west Texas. We explored the ruins of a dwelling, and they took a picture of me standing by the crumbling fireplace.

Upon showing the photos to JWs back at the KH, one said "Oh how awful! Why would you allow yourself to be photographed next to that obscene PAGAN ALTAR"?

Apparantly, the thought is that JWs should not visit structures associated with "false religion". Since leaving, I've visited churches in larger cities such as Chicago and San Francisco. While I don't share their beliefs, I am very impressed with the architecture, workmanship, and devotion which these represent. There is a beauty there which you will never find in a sterile KH. I would very much like to see a preserved pagan temple, if any such thing existed. I suppose the closest thing I've seen is the Peace Pagoda in San Francisco.
