Some things that have proven to be false

The UN taking over the world and becoming the 8th World power.
Not likely. The UN is impotent. I doubt that the UN will be around
even for the rest of my lifetime.

King of North vs. King of South. This sounded great in the 50s
and 60s. Russia was big meanie then. Russia is losing population
very fast which means it will have a hard time growing its
economy. It still wants to be big and mean which is why it
recently invaded Georgia. It is pretty clear that China will be
the world's next superpower, again probably in my lifetime, mostly
due to U.S. debt policy. 5 trillion, 10 trillion. Can you say 15 trillion
by 2015.

Governments turning on Religion. Not a chance. Every day the
world becomes more non-religious. Religion will implode
on its own, it won't need government to turn on it. This will
happen very gradually over the next 200 years or so.

Clay feet. The idea that the world will break up into lots
of small warring states. Not likely. Europe is going in
the opposite direction. I think China may decide to swallow
North Korea. It may also try to absorb all of Southeast Asia.
Just a guess. Improbable but possible, it swallowed Tibet
after all.

I believe anything is possible in this day and age, if you blink your eyes you might open them to a different world you never thought about or conceived could happen.

While I don't waste my time studying prophecy, I have had various ideas occur to me as I have studied the Bible and heard and seen what is happening in the world around us. The following is one of the ideas that I've come across.

Exactly! I've come to the conclusion that the falling away referred to in 2 Thessalonians 2:3 is just what you said. Complete and utter apathy to the things of God. What could be more apathetic than completely ignoring something? Also, Revelation 3:16 may give some support to such a thought.

The bible and prophecy is too keep people miss directed and occupied while the politicians plunder your wealth and energy.

That along with voting keeps people docile and manageable.

But you cant vote for anyone who will change anything for the better.

Peace and security. We have neither, nor will we. And if the Washtowel gets its way, they will make sure we never get either--rather, they will assume ownership of all people and property while making their version of "knowledge" the law. And they will stone to death anyone that dissents or that attempts to obtain actual ownership of anything. All without peace or security being declared by anyone.
