The real story with the new BS arrangment

  So I keep hearing that the BS arrangment hasn't changed anything, that's bulls***

  If the new night is going to be the same amount of time as it currently is, then obviously parts of the meeting have to be shortened or taken out ( which they have done ) Why can't they just admit to the fact that they are getting rid of 1 of the 5 meetings a week. Stop dancing around the issue.

  If the ministry schoold and service meeting are 1 hour and 40 minutes before January and then if the MS, TMS, and BS are 1 hour 40 minutes after January, then they have dropped 1 hour off of their weekly meeting schedule.

  Don't get me wrong, I LOVE IT, that there are less meetings. Just have the stones to be honest about it.

  C'mon now. Do u really think they're gonna fess up and tell people the truth? Honesty is hardly their highest ranking quality, now is it?!

  As long as people keeping accepting the crap, they'll keep dishing it out. I mean, have you read this week's WT study? What the heck bread has to do with dignity I'll never know and yet all the r&f will talk about their wonderful regular spiritual food. Open wide!

  The only meeting that has not shrunk is the WT - as of course the Public Talk is now only 30 minutes.

  The Witchtower was the first meeting to be shortened on the 70s.

  Don't you remember those forty paragraph monsters that went on and on and always went overtime? People were walking out before the end because they were on a schedule. And those going to their first meeting were so lost by all the blather they didn't really enjoy it.

  It was after 1975 that the time was cut as I recall - the smaller piles of "life giving truth " were easier to swallow, and less likely to put people off.

  The reduction in verbosity around that time, also tells me that little snake Freddie had less to do with the writing.

  The WTS does things for 2 reasons: Control and $$$$$

  Money:

  I suspect that the book studies are not well attended. If fewer people are going then no $$$ is coming in (those little contribution boxes that I recall). Move it to the hall, let it be known that the extra load in the hall for heating, air conditioning, maintenance requires more $$$

  Control:

  If BS attendance is down then it becomes harder to control people. They have to show up. It is easier to monitor people at the hall than to hunt down the BS-no-shows anywhere else. People might be willing to skip the book study but they will find it harder to miss the cong meeting where more people will see they aren't there

  So tighten the reins, go for another cash grab all in the name of simplifying the lives of the rank and file

  Guess what? That doesn't matter. I remember having them tell us that, if you pay for an item once upon picking it up and again after placing, that it was not double donating. Which was a blatant lie. Why not just omit that fact and just say that it is extra expense when in fact it is the same expense. The witlesses will fall for it and put that extra money in, which will all go into the Worldwide Pedophile Defense Fund.
