Ex-JWs Recieving More Attention from the Catholic Community?

Just got this in my email. What do you think? ExJWs&Friends: Rome To Engage ExJWs & JWs More; Will BRCI?, Sixscreens etc According to the "Catholic News Service," Ex-Jehovah's Witnesses will be receiving more attention from the Catholic community, and Catholics themselves may become more educated about Watchtower Society/JW misteachings: http://www.catholicnews.com/data/stories/cns/0805537.htm It would appear that now-Catholic, ex-JWs have been holding dialog directly with the Pope or some archbishops. In the past some Baptists have put at least a little more or nominal emphasis in these same areas. Rome's increased attentions to exJWs should spur other groups to more action. For nearly three years christianwitnesses.com has had a ministry to help exJWs and never-JWs as well as fading/exiting JWs and those among JWs who know Watchtower is misleading people but don't leave out of concern for ties with JW family and friends. It includes an online fellowship though it provides assistance for those wishing to start their own independent, real-world Christian fellowships with in-the-home or elsewhere Bible readings with informal, fun fellowshipping. Happily, some others, such as friends Rick and Inez Fearon (sixscreensofthewatchtower), have independently paralleled this ministry by using a real-world house-church augumented by international teleconferencing. Although otherwise doing much good, the older brci.org established by Ray Franz' friends has lain no foundation for a replacement of Watchtower, apparently misthinking Watchtower would eventually just reform. Maybe in light of what the Papacy intends to do the brci's leadership should also now give serious consideration to modifying their approach. This should be their last chance to do so. Logically, the Seventh Day Adventists etc may also be doing more. It is now clearly evident that Watchtower is imploding internally and this is likely to accelerate. Most all the news articles, comments etc of ExJWs&Friends are posted for you to read these days by clicking on http://www.christianwitnesses.com Please go there to read and learn a lot more; consider donating to silentlambs, bleeding lambs and also being a christianwitnesses fellowship servant. The Need truly is great!

Apparently the previous P*pe and his right-hand man, now the present P*pe, have a particular interest in engaging fundamentalist Protestant sects (or, cults); to wit, the promotion and backroom encouragement of fundamentalist Catholic sects like F*colare, NC (Ne*chatecumenate) and CL (C*mmunion and Liberation). A good book on this topic is The P*pe's Armada - interesting reading!

This wouldn't surprise me since many JWs are ex-Catholics.

Also, the JWs were always criticizing the Church, describing it as the epitome of Babylon the Great, with its statues, clergy, sinfulness and bloodshed through the centuries, etc.

Over the years the practices and problems of the JWs have become known to the world and they now look like the proverbial pot calling the kettle black. I am referring to their treatment of disfellowshipped persons which breaks up families and also their recent scandals. The Catholic Church (in its favor) has at least come forward to apologize for its own molestation scandals. I might also add that the JW religion has only been around for a little over a century and yet they have developed problems. Can you imagine what they would be like if they were around for several centuries???

So, I guess this is a way to get back at them and also get back some of those lapsed Catholics.

I imagine they would be very much like the Catholic Church. Possibly even their own inquisitions.

Well, that's one thing the Catholic church is doing that is good for society. While I do not believe their doctrines, I still think it's nice that they are starting to educate people about Jehovah's Witlesses.

Ironically, the very organization that started the First Dark Ages some 1600 years ago might stop the Washtowel Slaveholdery from starting the Second Dark Ages now.
