What do Dubs do with their Xmas cards?

Well, what did you used to do with them?

    1. Throw them in the trash.
    2. Display them in your hidden chamber.
    3. Display them in your lounge room.
    4. Place them under your Xmas tree!

Remember those times before Xmas when a Service Meeting part was given instructing the publishers how to respond to Xmas greetings? Mustn't reject the greetings, that would be rude! Oh no, the congregation had to be coached in what to say in response to a greeting. After all, the story went, the greeting might, just might, be sincere.

So, since the average dub naturally treats anything 'worldly' in the rudest possible way, how will they handle Xmas cards that they are sent? Which of the above?

    Cheers,
    Ozzie

Funny isn't it that when we were dubs (the true Christians] we could be so disrespectful of the good wishes of others. Now that we are a little "worldly" we can show real appreciation for others thoughtfulness. Funny that, isn't it?

My JW Gran would cop out and send a card back:

    COMPLIMENTS OF THE SEASON!

    Englishman.

    Bring on the dancing girls!

    Eman,

Which season would that be, then? The football season, perhaps?

I used to throw those evil Xmas cards away with gusto! I was making a statement to the "friendly god" Jehovah that I had nothing but disdain for those demonic holidays and those who celebrated them. I just knew that I was putting a smile on the grouchy diety's face by chucking those cards while still in the envelope. How pompously I strutted to the waste basket to pitch Satan's screed.

Where's my medication? I need to lay down for a bit!

    We got cards every year.

My Uber parents had a form letter that they would sign and send back, as to the reason they didn't celebrate Christmas, but thanked the sender for their well wishes. [8>]

I do remember one Halloween, some of my mother's workmates stopped by our house all dressed up (us kids were intrigued). This was after we had unplugged all the lights, sitting around in the dark etc etc in order to discourage trick or treaters.

My parents punked out. My mother started saying how cute they looked all dressed up and told my dad to go get the camera and take pictures!

I was extremely confused that day.

Well, I don't know - but I use to send cards to the Norwegian Branch Office, to the Coordinator there, Thor "Smultbæra" Samuelsen.

As a matter of fact, I use to send cards to him when I'm on holidays as well - and I love sending him porn-cards :)))

That's really a shame, since he's married a much younger woman - believing the old bugger would be young and nice in 1975. LOL. So, I'm to send her cards of great looking men from now on!
