Will the switch to DTV affect WTS in U.S.

In Feb 2009 Digital Television (DTV) will be introduced in the U.S. I've read this will have an affect on wireless microphone users at certain frequencies.

Will this change/impact congregations that use wireless microphones during the meetings? What about District Conventions and Assemblies that broadcast their programs on the radio for the hard of hearing?

Google is my friend. I should have searched before asking the questions.

The FCC approved use of "white space" and this has theater groups, churches, sport franchises, and others upset.

I hope this becomes a major expense for the WTS...having to convert back to wired microphones. I hope, too, they won't be able to broadcast their assembly and convention programs over the airwaves.

Yes because most Brothers who "put the Kingdom first" can't afford digital T.V! They will have to read or make more babies.

If so, it probably won't cost the WB&TS a cent. Congregations will be called on to pay for it. The society has to save its money for court battles over denying children blood transfusions and protection of pedophiles.

It will affect those who cannot afford digital TV or cable. These people will not be able to watch TV any more, and will have to go back to spending all their time in field circus or reading Washtowel publications and littera-trash.

As for running up a big bill going back to wired mics, all that will do is increase the houndings for donations. It might cause disarray for a while as they have to get people in to physically install the wiring for the wired mics, and my hope is that a few boasting sessions will have to be cancelled for that while that happens. And it makes extra work for those handling the mics.

It also makes extra work for anyone trying to receive the program from outside the Kingdumb Hell, record it, and post it on YouTube so people can puke on it before they join the cancer.
