Just ran into a neighbor across the street who was one of the few for Obama in this neighborhood. We got to talking about it and he says "I thought your family were Jehovahs witnesses!" Turns out my kids told him that almost 15 years ago after their grand parents moved here.....I'm still cringing but glad I got that straightened out! r.

We should market some kind of Apostate's Cootie Cream to clean the stench of the WTS off of us.

Time to overdo the Christmas lights this year methinks.

Mavie... I agree, lots of lights, etc. Funny we send them Christmas greetings every year but that didn't seem to make a dent. It was about elections and that JW's are nuetral. So they assumed we weren't voters.

I know what you mean. Everyone in our small town would think of us as JWs. I went to the pub the other night and had a talk with the barman about us being done with it. He was very curious about it all. So the word is out, and hopefully it will spread, so our neighbors won't think we're loons any more.

I decorate the house for holidays and have a flag hanging off the house, planters get mini flags as well. I always leave my cross necklace on when going out even if I am wearing another one to go with an outfit. Works like garlic, keeps the jw's at bay if we run into them anywhere.

Do you guys find that most people don't really know anything about what JW's believe. When I was helping out for the election and we'd come acros someone that said "oh we don't vote we are JW's", the other volunteers would say "what, they don't vote"? Then I'd have to explain it all to them. They were quite shocked. One guy even asked me well do they send their kids to school or get social security, disability, have any concern about what goes on in their neighborhoods or comunity, etc...? All I could say was, "amazing huh"?
