Hi Dub,
No problem. I think we and others here understand the danger of not having a balanced viewpoint on the issue of saving and investing money.
While none of us would suggest putting 100% of your money in the market on high risk stocks just expecting everything to go up up up, neither are we comfortable with people burying money in their back yard thinking that everything is going kablooey in two weeks.
One approach is as dangerous as the other.
People should indeed have both a short term strategy for covering their immediate healthcare and living expenses in the event of a personal and/or wide scale emergeney and a long term strategy to take care of their healthcare and living expenses in the event that they survive into old age. Both are possibilities and both must be prudently planned for.

sigh and I thought this thread was going to be about Christmans shopping...moving on to the next one...
Xena,
Is that because it was about buying or because it was posted by the board fairy?
:)

Joel...now that you mention it...lol it was the panic part actually and the fact that the end is very very near and I have bought NOTHING yet...aaaaaahhhhhhh
You may now get back to your regularly scheduled thread...my moment of panic is over..for this moment anyway...
When values are low...it will have to be a good time to buy. As always the blend is usually 50/50 between stocks and bonds....what is the problem?!
