For all the faults JWs have they got one thing right. Mindless devotion.

Without it armies would fail. Government depts would fail. Accountants would do what they wanted when. Even nature follows rules without question.

that the devotion is mindless (peace to you!). My understanding is that there is some thought involved, and therefore, some mindfulness (albeit, certainly not mind-FULL-ness). Self-righteousness requires thought, even if it is only of oneself. Hate also requires thought... of others... and often of oneself.

Blind devotion, yes. Mindless devotion... maybe not so much. Their "exacting" god (and so one whose primary goal is to punish, and quite heinously so) is the "child" of their exacting thoughts: born of their very imperfect... and exacting... hearts.

Fully integrated honesty works even better. If fully integratred honesty were universal, just looking at all the facts would lead the average person in the same direction since the laws of science and free market do not allow exceptions.
