  WE HAVE good reason to think seriously about our standing with God. Why? Because the evidence proves that God will soon destroy the wicked and establish his righteous new system. So we need to ask: “Am I worshiping God in the way that he approves?” It is not any man, but God, who is the judge of what pleases him. To get God’s viewpoint, we need to go to the Bible. There he plainly tells us the course to follow if we want to gain eternal life. (Proverbs 3:1, 2) If we take to heart what he says and apply it in our lives, it will result in marvelous blessings for us, both now and in the ages to come.

  2 When we examine what the Bible says on this matter, what do we find?...

  5 We need to examine, not only what we personally believe, but also what is taught by any religious organization with which we may be associated.Are its teachings in full harmony with God’s Word, or are they based on the traditions of men? If we are lovers of the truth, there is nothing to fear from such an examination. It should be the sincere desire of every one of us to learn what God’s will is for us, and then to do it.—John 8:32.

  We began our DA letter with that quote. It was followed by thirty pages of proof that the WTBS is wrong.

  First of all, surely it did not say "unless you're one of Jehovah's Witnesses" in the original chapter title!? I can't tell what you added...
  
  And secondly, are you saying that the newer Truth book changed the wording in this paragraph? When did they change it, and when did they stop using the Truth book altogether?

  lmao!...that is all i added to the original title...honestly......but that is what the FDS actually means.......NOTHING is supposed to be questioned or checked out if you ARE a JW...cause of course you KNOW it is the truth...esp if you were born in...they so do not want scrutiny on ANYTHING that the Sept 07 KM urged no scrutiny of the NWT...and no looking at the internet except on jw sites...and only doing research with WT publications!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!....

  yet no mass exodus....hell my elder/dad had that part!...and i busted his chops before he gave it...only one bro had the guts to question it from the audience....so no...they do not want you to "make sure of all things" or be like a beroeans...it is so unfair to the "born ins" because you can not study the bible without preconceived notions that this is the TRUTH!....so you study just to reaffirm that it is the truth...not to LEARN the truth...or PROVE the truth to yourself...............oompa

  and i must add that Olin Moyles Ghost metioned this T-Book chapter with the added part while we were playing golf...which gave me the idea for the thread....GO OLIN!

  well it is not unusual for me...which is why they graduated me from the km school...i have a diploma dontchaknow?...my elder/dad....said the bro asked about why we should not use the internet except for WT sites?......my dad said he would talk to him in private later.......pathetic............oompa

  That would have been a little embarrassing. The elders I know have the internet. And their families use it for lots of things other than going on WTS approved websites.
