help me fix computer before jw comes home frm assembly please

    I don't know what happened. I usually use Yahoo as my home page (cause my mail is on there) and a Google box came up that wanted me to change my home page to Google, it wouldn't let me do anything other than check OK, now I can't even get to a yahoo page of any kind. This is what pops up when I try- (see below)------- I tried going in the tools box and changing but must be doing something wrong. Help please? I don't wanna ask my jw today, he will be in full dubby mode and all self righteous about me being on the internet 'too much' blah, blah........eternally grateful for any help.

    Nevermind, panic has passed. All fixed now, no idea how but it is. Thanks anyway.

    You probably have a Google toolbar installed. You might try uninstalling that. Go to Control panel, add-remove programs, and select Google toolbar and uninstall it.

    To change your homepage in firefox you go into Tools at the top of the Window, click on Options. Make sure the 'Main' tab is selected (a light switch) and on that page you'll see something like 'Home page: http://www.google.co.uk or whatever the page is, change that to http://uk.yahoo.com/, apply the settings and exit the options window. In Internet Explorer you click on Tools, Options and change the homepage URL from the google one to http://uk.yahoo.com/.

    Go to lavasoft.com and download Ad-Aware SE. Then run it to check your computer for spyware. This has been recommended to me by several IT professionals when I had problems similar to yours. I've been using it for years.
