A couple of days ago we had a major shift in our weather. After over 2 weeks of sub-freezing temps, wind and snow we are now feeling the effects of what is called the "Pineapple Express", a weather system coming up out of the south Pacific with warm temperatures and rain. The deep snow that has been on the ground for 25 days has almost completely disappeared, I saw green grass in the backyard today! All's well that ends well . It has been an experience that has tested my mettle but I feel that I have come through a better man. Thanks to a well stocked pantry I found that pickled asparagus spears are an acceptable substitute for olives in a martini. I found that frozen Marie Callenders Lasagna was pretty good with a decent Cabernet. Having a home with no interruptions in electricty, central heat, TV, phone or internent was a big help but I really feel that the genes of my pioneer ancestors have risen to the challenge. Bring it on world!!

my daughter, who spent most of her 20 yrs
in the northern most latitudes of the midwest
moved recently to the sea-tac area....
so i am delighted to know the weather
is moderating....i have to admit i dismissed her complaints
about the snow (save a caution to stay
off the roads with drivers unacquained
with driving on snow and ice!!!!!!)i KNEW there would be a rapid relent
provided by nature to make the unusual
accumulation of snow a memory sooner
than later....we are at 48 inches....
with more to come.....
and MONTHS yet to endure.....gotta try that pickled asparagus thing, mebbe

does "extreme" clapping entail any consequences, such as palm bleeding? just asking.
