    Bill Gates has a new title "evil slave",
    or new light will make him look like the wild beast?
    i mean he invented Windows 95 and the Explorer browser (most likely the one you are using righ now)
    and you know the rest of the story, about the information network about the wt; the ugly sites etc

    Personnally, I'm convinced Bill Gates is the Devil himself. Check out the following site: http://egomania.nu/gates.html

    You'll be convinced. Try this calculation:

    OK, if you take all the letters in Bill Gates III and then convert it in ASCII code (American standard code for information interchange) and then ADD up all the numbers...you will get 666, which is the number of the beast!!!

    B = 66

    I = 73

    L = 76

    L = 76

    G = 71

    A = 65

    T = 84

    E = 69

    S = 83

    I = 1

    I = 1

    I = 1__ = 666 !!!! THE NUMBER OF THE DEVIL

    I think Bill Gates is great. He is keeping our economy going, here in the Seattle area. One of my friends works for one of his top executives, and makes really good money, just working in the house. They are so good to her, and give her great gifts. I've learned a lot about Bill's generosity from her, and he is a good guy.

    I have gone to Microsoft to do "usability studies", where you test their upcoming software. They give you software of your choice, to compensate you for your time.

    I think this thread is meant to be "tongue in cheek", but I had to put in my two cents anyway.

    Ha ha ha, this type of calculation with ascii is really funny. I heard another one like this: take the word WINDOWS95 and convert it in ascii and you get 666. I tried it and finally, it was 665 instead of 666... W=87 + I=73 + N=78 + D=68 + O=79 + W=87 + S=85 + 9=57 + 5=53 == 665

    nicolas,

    you made a mistake, they told you to assume the asccii characters were to be transmitted on a rs232 serial port using a async protocol with even parity, you had to take into 'account' the parity bit!

    do it again.

    nicolas,

    go back to school! or is it me ?

    i understand an asccii alpha character= to a number in decimal value, or has a numeric value

    BUT EXPLAIN HOW a decimal value converted to a binary asccII and then back to decimal it changes value in the process???

    95
    your example above 9=57 and 5=53

    a 9 should always be a 9 unless you said nine=57,

    I love Bill - the software his company makes helps to keep me in gainful employment and makes my job 'fun'
