This is for the lurker or the newbie who might be overwhelmed by information he/she will find on this site for the first time. How do you know that this information is true and correct? The organization will label these sites as apostates or liars in what they say , how do you distinguish the truth ? Hopefully I can offer some suggestions that will help you. How many years were you active ? What dates were they between ? Their are a number of links here and elsewhere you can get WT quotes of all the societys literature to check what was printed by the organization.,throughout their history , So the place to start is the period when you were involved with the witnesses.eg. I became a witness in 1960 then left in 1993 , during those years I know what I was led to beleive,so I examined from these "quotes"whether or not they were accurate or not,and in every case I found them to be spot on in accuracy.Just a few examples: early 1960`s convention and wt articles revealing "new"light on the superior authorities of romans 13:1,2 ( unbeknown to me then was really old light re-visited ) { the light was on then went out then was turned on again }When organ donours were first introduced I specifically recall them being likened to cannibalism in wt literature, something that puzzeled me at the time ,but I still thought this was God`s organization. Then of course the 1975 debacle and the many ambiguous ,contradictory, unethecical, excuses that emanated from that era. This is just a few of the things I have verified since joining sites like this one, their are dozens more examples I could relate during the time I was a witness,so I ask you check for yourself when you were active and see if the WT quotes don`t collaberate what you were taught when you were in and if they do /you can be assured that whatever else you read ( eg before your time) will also be true, early history etc.etc.

    hello smiddy,

:I became a witness in 1960 then left in 1993 , during those years I know what I was led to beleive,so I examined from these "quotes"whether or not they were accurate or not,and in every case I found them to be spot on in accuracy

Just to clarify: you are really saying that the quotes cited by "apostates" were spot on and actual quotes from the WT publications. From your wording, some readers might be led to think you are implying that the WTS was spot on in accuracy with their statements, and of course, we all know that isn't true.

As a card-carrying apostate myself, I have learned that JWs have no problems with the lies, distortions, obfuscations and misrepresentations that are constantly made in WTS literature. Yet if an opposer writes an article which totally devastates a Watchtower position and doctrine, yet makes even a very minor and even non-relevant mistake in that article, dubs will pounce on that mistake and use it to discredit the entire article!

Even worse, most dubs have been brainwashed to fear anything written against the society and won't even look at such material to determine if it is valid or not. Even direct scans from original WT publications aren't acceptable. Dubs will claim that the scans have been digitally altered and will dismiss them outright. All they would have to do is compare the scans against originals which are fairly easy for them to obtain. But they won't.

When it comes to real research into their religion, dubs are the laziest sack-of-shit people I've ever seen.

Farkel, you criticize JWs for not researching their religion and you are absolutely right. I wish they would realize how ridiculous and hypocritical it is to knock on other people's doors telling them to do that, when they are terrified, and even forbidden, to do the same.

Yeah, I had to reread what was written because the wording was confusing.
