You know sometimes in life one get's the urge to do something nice and unexpected for a stranger.

I just received a prayer request from a christian friend of mine. Her collegues daughter was recently in a car accident and has been paralysed from the waist down. This has caused quite a strain in the family dynamic and many seem to say this pain is the daughters' fault (which to me is sick - she didn't go and do it purposefully) Anyway so my friend asked that we pray for the collegue and the collegues daughter.

Which is great an' all.....BUT I spurred on by something thought it would be great to SHOW kindness as asked those on the list to donate a small amount so that we could go and buy a huge ass bunch of flowers and send them to her - bring something beautiful and bright into her life. Straight away my friends was negative about that.....that saddend me. Anyway some well sweetend words later, she agreed that something like this would indeed be a great thing to do.

It amazes me how quickly we will do those kind of things for friends and family, and yet for some sad stranger we stay away, or won't.

There is nothing better than giving something, no matter how small, and to see the shock and then delight in a strangers face.

    Be kind to strangers.

I agree wholeheartedly-do unto others, karma, whatever you call it. We all need to remember to be kind. It's hard when people are so mean and selfish but I believe that taking the high road is always the best choice.

LouBelle, even if your friends don't join in with you, go ahead if you can afford it and send flowers. It will make you as happy if not happier than the family that recieves them. I think it's a very kind and generous thing to do!
