Hope this isn't considered thread stealing but if your ancestry is from the British Ilse check
the list on this Web site..... you may find your family name listed as a convict because just about
everyone even petty things could get say 20 yrs..... then you'd be sent off from Britain to Australia !

Thanks ... and here is a very very distant relative (in fact relationship unknown but nevertheless our family name ! )..
that is listed as a convict transported to Australia from Britain.

Britain was in a program of clearing out all the troubled people to do hard time for even crimes that now would be
considered almost petty certainly not to do hard time for it or huge length of time sentences
