I found this on a JW discussion yahoo group and thought I would share.
I don't know why your message reminded me of this, it is off topic, but it
helped me to appreciate all of my brothers and sisters and the strange
things they do sometimes.
I am at a DC working as a watchman in the hallways. There had been a food
stand set up and the very end of the hallway with a wall at the back of the
brothers working it. Through the session a fire marshal had come by and
told us that the stand could not be there because in the event of a crowd in
front of the stand they would be trapped in the event of an emergency. So
we notified Administration and they approved us to move the stand back up
the corridor where it would be safer for the friends.
Well you know how our dear bro. and sisters are, they memorize where the
bathrooms and food stands were. Since it was in one place before the
session, that is naturally where they would go at the noon break.
There was a CO working the News Dept. for that convention and his door was
right in the middle of the old site and the new site. I was asking him if
we should put a sign up or something to let the friends know where the stand
had gone. He smiled at me and said wait just a minute and watch.
As soon as the Chairman dismissed the audience for break, here they came
just like a herd of cattle, all of them heading for the end of the corridor.
The safest place to avoid the stampede was inside the doorway of the News
Dept. door The CO stepped out of the office and with a large voice said,
"BROTHERS, THE STAND HAS BEEN MOVED, PLEASE TURN AROUND AND GO THE OTHER
WAY."
As if they were all on the same frequency, the whole crowd stopped, turned
around, and began moving in the opposite direction. I had never seen such
precision. The CO stepped back in the office, looked at me smiling and
said, "Jehovah's people ARE just like sheep. You've got to love them."
I try to remember that when someone does something goofy in the
congregation. I just remember, "Jehovah's sheep, you got to love them."
