This is what we are told, in one way or another, at every meeting now.

    What's up with all the " "?

The way they are used so frequently here, it makes me think these words are being used "tongue in cheek".

What do the quote marks really say?

Jehovah ("the so-called"?) "the true Lord"

"messenger of the covenant" (was Jesus, but messengers are subject to change?)

    from your link:

The prophecy of Malachi foretold that Jehovah, “the true Lord,” accompanied by his “messenger of the covenant,” his newly enthroned Son, Christ Jesus, would come in judgment to inspect His “temple,” or spiritual house of worship. “The appointed time” for the ‘judgment of the house of God’ to begin evidently arrived in 1918. (Mal. 3:1)

This drummed out line has worked for years........ years that is before the information age and the twice changed 'generations'.

Dear Bethel Lurker please inform those whom you serve that this date stuff looks ridiculous. Some business models can survive for centuries but others have their limits as they become irrelevent time and advancement presses forward......

Remember from the 2007 DC talks where it is said that no falsehoods are found in their mouths and then discern all the 'imperfect' falsehoods and flip flops. If these men are 'imperfect'and 'un-inspired' then why do they demand those of us in the KHs to obey them as if they were infallible?

As the 1919 temple approval has been brought out several times in the last year.... more either find themselves struggling to keep face in the evidently ever becoming more clear fact that the WTS claim is hogwash or worse yet it interested them in older materials like the FM or now many of the 1925 WTs (as referenced in March WT- I have personally printed out 12 sets and emailed 40 more within my circuit) and what do you think they will find? Stumbling by the organization's company's own buffoonery.

August 1, 1914 was the day Germany/Austria declared war on Russia, not when Jesus set down as per the 1922 WT would have us believe. Rutherford wanted to keep afloat the concept of Armageddon because his book sales would increase. 1925 came and went, Rutherford died and yet another set continued and another and another...... now here we are some 135 years after the first declaration of Christ second invisible coming and 131 years since he allegedly first sat on the throne and yet the arc door is still closing...... 1919 was the ego-saving lie Rutherford told rather then admit he acted seditiously and wrote enlisted men (and encouraged others to write as well) to desert there duties. ..... in stark contrast to what the scriptures say in 1Cor 7:20-21 ((( In whatever state each one was called, let him remain in it. 21 Were you called when a slave? Do not let it worry you; but if you can also become free, rather seize the opportunity.)))) So if enlisted personnel find themselves accepting the concept of "Christian neutrality" then until they become 'free' versus proerty of whatever respecting military they are to remain in their duty.

Just what they need--everything you do is something you are told to. Who needs to exist like that! Why they don't just create 7 billion robots that do what they are supposed to?

During my WT study the bit about claiming that Malachi foretold the inspection and approval of the org in 1918 was a show stopper, because I immediately actually looked up the verse and proceeded to read the whole chapter in context. Here is the first part of it, NIV style:

1 "See, I will send my messenger, who will prepare the way before me. Then suddenly the Lord you are seeking will come to his temple; the messenger of the covenant, whom you desire, will come," says the LORD Almighty.

2 But who can endure the day of his coming? Who can stand when he appears? For he will be like a refiner's fire or a launderer's soap. 3 He will sit as a refiner and purifier of silver; he will purify the Levites and refine them like gold and silver. Then the LORD will have men who will bring offerings in righteousness, 4 and the offerings of Judah and Jerusalem will be acceptable to the LORD, as in days gone by, as in former years.

5 "So I will come near to you for judgment. I will be quick to testify against sorcerers, adulterers and perjurers, against those who defraud laborers of their wages, who oppress the widows and the fatherless, and deprive aliens of justice, but do not fear me," says the LORD Almighty.

It is describing a future golden age for Israel. Did justice come to the world in 1919? Did sorcerers, adulterers and perjurers get judged then? How about those who defraud laborers of their wages, who oppress the widows and the fatherless, and deprive aliens of justice? Were they put out of business in 1919? I pointed this out to my study conductor and he was silent on the matter, then changed the subject.
