I know I have been let down many times, either in word or deed.

    What about you? Any experiences?

Yeah, and though this might not sound like a big deal, it was probably one of the contributing factors to our family's withdrawal from the so-called loving brotherhood.

Needed a ride to the hall, after years and years of attendance. Family of multiple cars, so NEVER needed a ride, in fact always willing to give others rides, and available to assist anyone with transportation, moving, etc. etc. But ONCE, in how many years? and we were absolutely WITHOUT A VEHICLE. Wanted to make the meeting so asked our book study conductor if it was possible for our familiy to be picked up, just this once? What a rigamarole...First off, couldn't we call another family? The conductor's wife suggests an alternate family - I explained that their vehicle wouldn't be large enough for our group; so that wouldn't work; she then proceeds to explain how little room is in their vehicle; blah, blah - I mean I couldn't even comprehend someone going to these lengths to avoid picking someone up, and these were actually our FRIENDS! I could hear the conductor's wife absolutely scrambling to come up with some excuse why it wouldn't be possible...long story short, they actually came and picked us up but complained the whole time about having to do so. Ok, so far so good. Get to the Hall. Now after the meeting, we need a ride home, but these folks are going out in the ministry, so can we scrounge around for a ride home? GEEZE LOUISE....here we go again. FINALLY, somebody who actually had to go OUT OF THEIR WAY agreed to take us home but I was exhausted...this just proved to me that when push came to shove, there was no actual LOVE to be had, it was all hot air and blather. So yeah, a real let down.

The funny thing is, now that we don't go to the Hall at all, we still hear from these folks who we actually like and get along real well with. Well, except for asking for rides, that is...

a friend of mine (he's not a witness but family is in) was convinced by a family member to hire a sister full time to do bookeeping.

always complained that she needed another helper.... workload was too high. he checks up on her and finds out that after coming in the morning would leave during the day for 4 hours to: pioneer, do errands and shop.

when confornted, she said she was getting paid salary, so as long as the work is done she should get paid full time..... i still don't get why she said she was overworked.

it's hard for him to get rid of her, because she slipped and hurt herself in the parking lot yesterday

After having surgery, a sister phoned my wife saying if there was anything she could do to just let her know. I thought OK, could you drive her to the doctor for a follow-up appointment. She said....well...that's too far out of her way so she said no. However, she added, if there was anything else she could do just ask. Ahhhhhh...the brudda-hood!! You just gotta love it.
