Does anyone know if there is any printed material out there, that outlines the procedure as far as contacting an original judicial committee by a reinstatement committee? I know that the elders that the person approaches for reinstatement contact the original JC however, I am looking for the written guidelines regarding what information and how much detail one committee is supposed to share with the other. sammieswife.

i think its one of those things where they wont print that kind of information.......... instead they have the elders hand write it in the flock book at their annual elders meetings so they can deny it since they never actually printed anything. i personally know that each committee is completely different. some would be eager to share and others will look at it from the point of view that someone is trying to mess with their authority.

i guess what im trying to say is it depends on what kind of as**oles you have on the DFing committee. also depends on how they look at the person being DFed.......... do they like him.......... do they hate him......... are they jealous/lust after..... of him (or her)..........

So..although the flock book says to maintain confidentiality..any elder at any time can ignore that rule and spread stories that they want to among the elders of another congregation. From a legal standpoint, doesn't confidentiality mean confidential - and therefore, from a reinstatement point of view, what does the infraction have to do with reinstatement? In other words - the person who wishes to be reinstated is not obligated to tell the elders in the new congregation why he was turfed - if he does so he himself breaks the confidential agreement. If the person says nothing then the elders then contact the elders on the original JC who if they spill their guts, are determined to have broken the confidentiality agreement. This in itself can become slanderous. I take it to mean that no person who asks to be reinstated has to say anything really...their reinstatment should be based on their present actions only. sammieswife.
