My garage door is making noises when it opens even after several repairs, what USA brand do you recommend for a new garage door?

Speaking of garage door openers....I *hate* mine!

The safety sensors are affected too easily by sunlight. If it's too bright out, it interferes with the safety beam and the door won't shut. I have to get out of my car, go into the garage, hold the button down (to override the safety mechanism) to get the door to shut. Then of course walk through the house and out the front door to get to my car. Grrrrrr....

Not many months ago, I had a very noisy opener. To make a long story short, it was not the opener -- it was how it was attached to the house.

I'd noticed for several months how the header (the part of the wall directly above the opening, and which the center part of the opener was attached) was sagging. When I measured the sag, it was approx 1".

I corrected the sag, which translated into that spring wrapped torsion spring rod sagging as well, being not straight as it should be.

No more noise (creaking, howling, etc), all the result of misalignment.

ps: I'd like to say that correcting the sag was not easy. I did the job which would have cost between $1,500 and $2,000.

Where the noise coming from? Is it the track, the motor ?

Spray a lot of w-40 on both tracks and wheels and chain if you have one and any other moving parts that you see.

If it continues than it's misaligned or the motor might be shot.

Tough to troubleshoot from here.

If you need to replace it, go to Sears and get one.

I just got a new garage door opener. It is made by Linear. It is whisper quite and the light that comes with it is fantastic. It is very bright and you can turn the light on independent of the door opener.
