March looks are soooo deceptive!

I am looking out my 'lakeview' window. I see sunshine, a few whispy clouds, and beautiful blue vistas.

It looks 70 degrees. The newly greened grass looks springlike. The budding trees appear to signal 'Come on out and play'.

But reality is that it is really only about 30 degrees [F]. The blowing wind makes it feel much colder. The ice on the puddles is freezing over though in the sunlight.

Damn! Winter is a cruel mistress.

Come spring - come quickly, and warm my flesh as well as my soul.

    If it's any consolation, Jeff,

It was -33 here the other morning. This morning it was -29.8 celcius.

    It's horrid.

You didn't get snow, Jeff? Last eve on the Weather Channel they had a blizzard watch going on for the midwest. Hoping it's total hype.

Yesterday was so nice until the front came through... It was 79F from 2 until 4 pm then the temps dropped to 57 by 8pm and 40 by midnight. By this morning it was down to 28.

I am not far from you Jeff.... SW (corrected) of you I think

That is the weather for most of the country. In the Northeast, particularly northern New England, it is most likely to warm up significantly only to have a blizzard after. And especially this early--you can have it be 80 out one day and snowing the next (especially in the northern plains). After that, you will be having severe thunderstorms and tornadoes to worry about, especially in the plains (the south is already in that part of the season).

Just ahead is the hot, muggy weather. That is going to hit the South first, and move north. By May's end, everyone should be hot and muggy (though the north will be less hard hit). Then people will be struggling in field circus with their sweat boxes on, with a rule that the sweat box has to stay on and the person has to stay out in field circus all day or be hounded to death.

We are in Indiana - no blizzard, in fact just a sniffling of snow this morning. But cold.

The AK in my screen-name is confusing, does not stand for Alaska - though parts of Alaska might be having similar weather today.
