While reading the WILL of Russell (Watchtower 1916, December 1)one could notice that it wasn't respected in various points. But the one I would like to mention is, not to publish another journal then the Watchtower. It reads:

"As the Society is already pledged to me that it will publish no other periodicals, it shall also be required that the Editorial Committee shall write for or be connected with no other publications in any manner or degree."

I don't pretend to be familiar with Laws. But isn't it clear that by publishing the AWAKE!(GOLDEN AGE) the above mentioned was violated? Same point was mention by Timothy White in his excelent book: A PEOPLE FOR HIS NAME: A HISTORY OF JEHOVAH'S WITNESSES AND AN EVALUATION (P. 173)

Do you know if ever somebody took the WBTS to court on this point? If not, would it be possible to do so? Don't they say they don't publish the names of the NWT committee because that was their "request"? Where is their consistancy?

I am putting on my old, JW thinking cap(yuk), and I come up with this: “Other periodicals” does “other” mean from another, separate, non Russell approved committee? There can be two viewpoints to the meaning! I take the one that makes us look good! JW thinking cap now off.

Interestingly, when the Golden Age was first published, it had no real connection to the Society. It was published by Clayton Woodworth, and had a NYC address not a Brooklyn address. Apparently the Judge tried to make it seem it was a seprarte journal not sponsored by the Society.

Have Russell write out another will and give it to Judge Rutherford so he can protect it.
