    Hi All,

There was a discussion down the board aways about the meaning of life.

This was my comment,"Horses have life, what is the purpose of his life? What is the difference between his purpose and humans? We are just able to ask more questions about life than the horse, but we don't have any more answers."

Maybe we are here to give a home for some viruses, bacteria or maybe a parasite. Nature seems to indicate that life is ment to be used as food for the next higher animal.

Do we have something extra as a human, like a soul or spirit that inhabits our body, and is somehow more valuable to the universal God?

It seems to me though that the purpose of life is to produce more life, else there would be no more life after a hundred years or so.

    undecided,

I think the crucial question is: meaning to whom? To me, "meaning" indicates a conscious mind. Sure, natural forces can be attributed a "meaning" in another sense, and in that sense we are reproductive machines or food or whatever. But the real meaning in our lives is what we create ourselves, not what are dictated to us by forces outside our control.

The meaning of my life is to make money and use that money towards my satisfaction. That includes remodeling my house, buying DVDs, and taking weeks off to party.

There's something inherently romantic involved with fantasizing about glorious achievements, or spiritual endeavors. But really, it all boils down to money and what it can buy.

    All hail the Almighty Dollar.
