This wasn't a perfect movie but it had some great special effects scenes involving a plane crash, a subway crash, and uh, deer. I won't give anything away but I was really surprised at how far this movie took its story. Anybody else seen it yet? Most of us have had dealings with end of the world predictions, so this movie is pretty pertinent to the forum.

We just got home from seeing it. I have to say, it was weird. Mr. Fiorini hated it. I found it intriguing but strange. It starts out by discussing whether there is meaning and purpose in the universe, or if everything's the result of random chance. Somewhere along the line it takes an odd turn and ends up dealing with an Armageddon type scenario.

I must admit, as we left the theater I wondered if any JWs will go see it and what conclusions they might draw from it if they do.

Most Nicolas Cage movies are weird, thinking of Adaptation!

loved him in Captain Corelli's Mandolin.

This sounds like an interesting movie though,

Sounds weird. Most critics have ridiculed it (21% at Rotten Tomatoes). One said it is the best reason to revive MST3K. And then Roger Ebert goes and gives it four stars. Isn't that his highest rating?

If the critics hate it that means there isnt meaningless violence and constant foul (sorry) "STRONG" language.

I find critics so funny. In their well-paid jobs and comfortable life-style, they find everyday pleasantness boring. They need to be entertained with misery followed by a delicious expense account restaurant dinner.

For most of us whose lives are grindingly hard and difficult a film showing sweetness and light is as much as we can hope for.

I shall be going to see it - I like to make my own mind up.

This flick was really similar to a typical M. Night Shamalamadingdong movie.
