Since there appears to be no eye=witness testimoney of sin or defect within the Governing Body of The WBTS, could we be dealing with superhumans such as the Bible's Nephalim? Would this not explain the powerful control this org seems to weild over common folks?

    Anyone care to comment?

I think the control the WT has over its members comes from their use of mind control techniques and other psychological manipulation.

    Define 'sin or defect'

    Let me clarify my dilemma.

It seems to me to be either/or issue when it comes to the validity of the JW org.

Either: The leaders behind the scene are so clever that there exist no eye-witnesss to sins that the Bible states are common amoung all humans making them demonic,

    OR

The GB simply does not sin to the extent of the average person, making their claims of righteousness more credible.

Would not one think that in this age of disclosure and "gotcha" mentality that someone would come forth with specific evidence of intentional fraud or duplicity at the top thus, wobbling the entire structure of the group? All we seem to have now are opinions and circumstancial evidence. Perhaps the real eye-witnesses are still under the spell of the cult even though they think they have been liberated. I can't tell ...

I think your streching things a bit. The GB has never claimed somethng like "papal infallibility". They are just normal people, or as normal as circumstance allows. If you ever meet them its apparent they are prone to defect like everyone else.

Have you met them? I have never talked to ANYONE who could tell me who, what, when, or where.

    Please advise.

I met all of them that were around during the 90's. I'm related to one appointed since then. Most of my contact was while in Bethel and several on this forum have had the same experience.

As for "defects" they freely admit to being counciled on things like envy, pride, humilty, etc. As for sin they state that all men are born into sin, that includes the GB. I would be suprised if any actively engaged in "major" sins, but not because of any special strength. Most had been in the service for decades before they were appointed. If they were prone to something like, for example, adultery its unlikely that they could hide it for that long. But then again how hard is it for a 70yr old man to avoid adultry.

Three were were removed\resigned around 1980. Two for probable homosexualty, another for apostasy.

Some also make the case that they are all guilty of apostasy. But you have to figure that out for yourself.

In any secret society people are controlled either by reward or by blackmail.

I am sure if anyone knew anything that could be detrimental if exposed...they are either being bribed into silence by generous rewards....or blackmailed by threat of scathing punishment. You can bet that anyone who would know this kind of information is also part of the 'closed group'.
