I heard of an interesting study on KCRW (public radio LA) today about teenagers that take a vow to abstain from sex before marriage. In this survey they found that the pregnancy rate was the same with teens that had made some kind of a vow to abstain from sex before marriage as those that did not make any vow. The difference was those that had made some kind of commitment to abstain from sex were less likely to have taken any steps to prevent pregnancy or sexually transmitted diseases.

I quit, I've heard it said that the "good girls" usually don't plan or use contraception because that would mean it was premediatated sex (read sin).

This girl I work with has two daughters that both took a vow of celibacy one is 15 the other almost 17. Their dad gave them a special ring and everything. One is on her 2nd kid the other just found out she's 5 months pregnant last week.
So much for the vow, maybe parents should try educating their kids instead.

Isn't it odd that they say
you're too young to decide do what god put it in your hormones for you to do,
but you're old enough to make an even more deadly serious decision of rebelling against what god put it in your hormones to naturally do?
It's royally effed up if ya ask me.
But then, maybe it's ALL a natural part of evolution. The strong ones will rebel and procreate. The weak ones will believe it and live as slaves to the strong ones.

This is one more reason why I would like to help rid the whole planet of all religion except atheism and Devil worship. Jehovah takes a natural act and makes so many f***ing rules that it makes it impossible to enjoy it. And Allah isn't any better, either.
