I saw an interview with the other two judges, not Simon, and they were asked if Susan Boyle was going to win and they said .........Well, there is more amazing talent!!!
I wonder if they were referring to this kid,

My issue is that when his voice changes next week he's going to go from having a lovely high voice to sounding like your average Welshman! I mean why do you think they toss them out of menudo at 15? Give me a break!?

I thought his performance was great, but the whole thing was contrived; Cowell getting him to stop and perform another song, Cowell then nodding smugly as the crowd goes wild etc. Everyone on the show is screened in advance at least twice before being invited to perform in front of the judges and many are represented by professional agents. Many will likely already be known to the producers via auditions on X-Factor.
Fantastic singing, tho.
