Will Witnesses Ever Get Angry?

Depression is anger turned inward -which explains why depression is such an epidemic among Witnesses, who are trained to feel guilt. Nevertheless, wiil the cowardly obsequiousness of Witnesses ever end? Will they ever boo at assemblies? Punch out the elder who announced their kids disfellowshipping? Scream "I'm mad as hell and I'm not going to take it anymore"?

I guess it's healthy for most dissatisfied Witnesses to fade away or lead a double life or close their wallets. The Society seems to be worried about that reaction. But does it take a complete lifting of the 'magic spell' controlling Witnesses thru "apostasy" to get them to fight back and say "Enough!" openly? Or do they really continue to attend and nod their empty heads in compliance while discreetly doing otherwise?

Cult control is very effective. Breaking the spell is not easy and even when you do, the game is not over.

Scream and yell. Will anyone listen or will they just run for safety?

Fade and try to keep the peace. Can you speak your mind?

Hey, you are still in the game.

It would be great to see people just get up and call bullshit and walk out and everyone slowly follow.

Here is what I see in my circuit.

This isn't a good time to get 'angry' as many will lose family and entire support systems. Why go through that kind of HELL?

Beyond that it is the old "where will we go" thing that keeps them going.

Most believe ardently of the core three and the disdain for holidays persists. (though most would like to see B-Days MOC'd).

If things continue as they have they will jsut be seat warmers (though missing a meeting or two more often). They will continue to not donate unless cornered by Elders (many are already claiming that they are saving for the DC's WWW..... since the Elders can't prove or disprove their donation).

Some are waiting to see if change happens, parent's die, a more opportune time to fade, or because this religion is their 'tradition'.

If I had to give a word that described the average witness it would be anger. I always hear it from them, although they internalize it. I hear it from the platform, out in FS and often wondered why do they always sound angry. If I ever try to talk to someone about it, they instantly agree but then quickly deny it. It was just plain crazy.

First, I hope to have caused wasted time and worrying about which boasting session I am supposed to be at. I would be at one, live in another's territory, "forgot" to transfer my publisher card (to increase potential for confusion), and blow both of them off. I would often "forget" to place a field circus slip in the box at the end, only to turn in separate slips for each month so they would hunt for a slip (that wasn't there). Only to have it turn up next month. Hopefully, that wasted a good amount of their time.

And I have stopped donating anything to the Worldwide Pedophile Defense Fund. If they ran a deficit at the a$$embly, I thought it was funny and wouldn't donate even a penny to make it up. Same if the congregation announced that they were running something like $7 in their account with a $900 bill coming up--they wouldn't get a penny from me. And I always got p***ed when they found the extra money to pay that bill.
