Some time ago, I read on the internet, that in late 70s there was a GB member (his name should be Leo Greenslee) who was accused of molestation of a little boy - son of a witness family. After this was revealed, he was supposed to be removed from Bethel to serve as a special pioneer out of New York and have died in 80s.

    Have you heard about it?

Yep. Interesting research. Hard to prove exactly what happened. I believe his name is "Greenlees". just google "jehovah" "greenlees" and you'll get all the info you want. The young boy he molested has done interviews. There was also a GB member named Ewart Chitty who was removed. Apparently for being homosexual. And of course the Great Apostate - Evil Slave - Ray Franz. Good thing Jesus has total control of the congregation right? They are like stars in his hand.....LOL

Mark Palo is the name of the victim.

Perhaps some here are more familiar with his story?

I'm curious as to why he wouldn't have been "bought out". Surely a GB member being relocated would be an admission of guilt in some respects.

Attn allelsefails: I presume you speak of Raymond Franz as "The Great Apostate" in respect to how he is viewed by the Watchtower Bible and Tract Society. When you put him in the same paragraph as Greenlees and Chitty, some uninformed people may make the mistake of thinking he is of a similar character. I am grateful Ray Franz has given the world an unparalled insight into the sordid failure of religious authority from the seat of power and top boardroom, along with an insightful analysis of how our common humanity is at the root of these failures and we all have the seeds of such failure within us as human beings. Kudos to Ray.

    Well said Jeandeau,

Ray is a lovely man, and a fine Christian, and many of us will be eternally gratefull for his books,Crisis of Conscience and In Search of Christian Freedom ,(Commentary Press) must reads for those exiting the Borg.

With the cases of Greenlees and Chitty of course it is no surprise to find individuals of this kind in a large organization, but the way it was handled stinks of cover-up and no concern for victims actual or future, and where was the Holy Spirit when these men were appointed ?

We were informed that it is a private matter as to why they were the only 2 brothers EVER to be deleted from the Governing Body! We just don't like to talk about it........Governing body members are supposed to be members for LIFE!!! Do the math??

Ray Franz is a brave man for taking the route he did - it couldn't have been an easy decision. He was disfellowshipped on NO Biblical grounds.

I don't think Greenlees was d'fed? I thought he was just moved (as an Elder) to a neighbouring congregation? If he'd done nothing 'wrong', then why move him?

That's what I understood Witness007 - they're appointed by God himself, so how can men remove them?

Thanks jeandeau for the point. Sorry to put Ray Franz in with the other 2. just making a point about the GB and the things they don't want to talk about. Ray Franz has shown incredible personal strength and courage. Only admiration for him.
