I recently was watching the 1960's version of the "Time Machine" starring Rod Taylor as George Wells.
At the end of the movie when George disappears into the future for good, his friend Mr. Filby, (Alan Young) and the housekeeper look at the bookcase and notice that three books are missing.
Filby asks, "what three books would he take to restart a civilisation"?
What three books do you think he took with him ?
I don't know what I would take, but I know it would not be the Bible or anything written by WTS.
I thought there were only two books missing - given the time period, the producers and writers would have expected him to take a Bible and a book of mathematics...
Personally, given the choice of 3 books, I'd choose a book on agriculture/horticulture, a book on human history, and a book of mathematics...
Or a book on metallurgy, a book of mathematics, and a book on agriculture/horticulture... How sad to be limited to only 2 -3 books...
