Maybe even if it is sincere but not form the HEART too - because even though I accept an apology, it doesn't necessarily mean I've forgiven them!

Words can be very cheap at times. I suppose at the end of the day, if it was sincere and from the heart, this would be displayed pretty quickly in their future behaviour/attitude.

Depends on what it was. Murder of a loved one? Possibly not.....said something hurtful to me? I hope that I could. Yes, I really feel that I would. I know that I certainly don't always say the right things all the time.

I hope so. So often I have been inclined to say "no need to apologize" which, as I think about it now, might amount to a request for an additional apology ... that for apologizing!

If they tried to make amends for the past and their current and previous actions proved they really meant it. My father "apologized" for abusing me and my siblings and then took it back and said he never did anything. We then took action to protect ourselves from any emotional abuse and did our best to protect others from him. He is dead now....
