After the thread on the gay prom queen...

So many things in the modern world are issues because they are in the holy books of a certain stone age nomadic tribe, who like most desert wanderers cut off the skin of the penis.

Why can nobody ever quote something from the Sanscrit books or any of the other holy writings when they want to justify hating and or killing somebody whose life is different.

Think of all the trees wasted printing "proofs" of Noahs Global Flood - we all know that if it were in any other holy book it would have been dismissed as trash without a second thought.

They quote the Unholy Bible because the stupid religions all teach that, unless you do, you are going to burn in hell or die at Judgment. The leaders do that on purpose because they want to control the masses (it would be too much if we were to just plain enjoy life without having to worry about some Almighty Lowlife Scumbag that is bent on punishing us for just having fun or not sacrificing to His stupid purpose).

First, the Unholy Bible proclaims Original Sin (notably, the Quran also tells of this). This was put there just to scam people into believing that they need to be redeemed and, that they therefore need to give up most of their pleasures. There is the sacrifice issue, where the Messiah offered up a perfect sacrifice, to which nothing ever need be added. Yet, that same Unholy Bible insists that we need to add to that "perfect sacrifice, to which nothing ever need be added" by living a self-sacrificing life. Usually, this involves giving up much that we enjoy doing, wasting our money supporting this church or Kingdumb Hell, and spreading this cancer to everyone we can (usually, this means our children). If we are not doing all of the above, we might well end up in hell or dying at Armageddon.

As I see it, if the Bible tells us that Jesus offered up "a perfect sacrifice, to which nothing ever need be added" and then tells us to live self-sacrificing lives, it has to be lying. And the early Catholic church is the one that wrote it up (Paul also had something to do with this additional sacrifice, creating problems where none needed to exist). And they spread the doctrine that, if anyone tries to expose the Unholy Bible, they are going to hell or to die at Armageddon--that is the "sin against the holy spirit, for which there is no longer any sacrifice" in their eyes.

No wonder religion is so entrenched--and so difficult to eradicate. Sooner we will exterminate cockroaches from this planet than we will exterminate religion.

    Greetings, HB:

Much of what I used to say included profuse quotations from Biblical or WT scripture. I simply no longer feel the need to back up my daily verbal meanderings with "authoritative" verse. At one time it seemed so right.

Normalcy in speech and conduct fits me comfortably in this, the autumn of my life ...

I think a policy of censoring hate-speech would be a good idea. 1/10-1/20 of all men are gay, thats quite a lot of users here. I cant believe anybody want them to come here and see such hate and bigotry as sam and others displayed on that threat, quite frankly i find it disgusting. This site is here to help others, not promote hate, there are plenty of other places on the internet where they can do that.

I think it's because it's so easy to do. Also, the quote is like a mantra that puts their minds in a comfort zone. If they have to actually think through the doctrine, they would stall. Faith fills in the gaps in thought.

I don't believe that homophobic nonsense is in the Bible. It's sad that the six scriptures that are used by some to condemn homosexuality are mistranslated and misapplied and some have gone from one radically homophobic set of religious beliefs to another.

It's my feeling that until you deconstruct ALL the JW lies, and some of them are unfortunately shared by literalistic and fundamentalist Christian faiths, that you're not truly free.

Why quote any religious statements to defend a law in a country based upon separation of Church and State?

If a position is legally sound, it should not need religiobabble to support it.
