When I was a Minny Man I was used to give P.Ts home and away, this stopped when I asked to be given no more P.Ts about 5 years before I left. Our P.O gave out the outlines and the venue in the old days, later another Elder oversaw (is that a word?) the business.

I refused to give one outline because it was such a load of rubbish, and I said so, our P.O then allowed me to go through the outlines and pick one I could do, not easy, took a lot of looking !

I refused an invitaton to give a talk in another Congo, but this was after I had stopped giving them in ours.

Did you ever refuse ? I always adapted the outline so that it didn't sound outrageous, and included my own research and thoughts ! Got away with it for years.

So, any other mavericks out there?

another question, there was an outline supposedly proving a Global Flood, is that still a current outline ? LOL !

I'll tell you what I do: I concentrate on talks dealing mainly with non-doctrine issues. Then I ignore the outline and build a encoraging, uplifting talk. MY own reasearch and thoughts are all over it. Every now and then (very infrequently) at the end some jerk wil come up to me "Bro. Churchill, that was an excellent talk, but you should clarify this and this better, because it could give the wrong impression, as you seem to imply such and such..."; I smile, thank the moron and thell him I'll take it in consideration for the next time (which I won't).

Let me tell you, teh satisfaction I derive from the heartfelt feedback I get is really comforting. I reafirms to me that I can do some good while I'm in. I see poor R&F bros. and sis being beaten, and I take as my duty to givethem some comfort.

And yes, that nonesense Global-Flood outline is still 'Current'.

So far, I have never had that occasion. I have, however, had talks in the Theocraptic Misery "School(??)" that I wanted to refuse to give. They would be set up to develop it on fornication (which would have been used to keep me forever celibate while using me to start the Second Dark Ages for the world). Instead, I developed it in a totally different direction (something you wouldn't get away with these days).

These days, I would simplify the whole talk greatly if I were given one exalting the benefits of celibacy or not doing fornication. The whole talk would simply be:

    The Bible lies.

Yeah I gave the Sunday Public talk for afew years...young ones loved my use of illustration....and I thought I was the original Jesus back from the dead!.....after a good while I asked the C.O to delete me due to work commitments, stress and sickness.........but secretly since I thought it was all a load of crap.

I have known elders that would not do assembly or convention parts because of the way the conductor wanted to twist the story.

What is an assembily part? What is being assembled and what kind of part is being used?

Yes, I have refused several times. Mainly because the KH was short Elders and MS and the school overseer and the PO would schedule each individual an excessive amount of talks. This stopped when I put them on the spot at the KH and just refused to do them and the PO or school overseer would have to do them very impromptu.

The school overseer said; "Quirky, so what am I supposed to do with all these talks when I don't have enough people to give them?" I said; "I give up, what are you going to do?"
