I do not know if it has been posted before but as of this week Saturday is no longer a normal workday for Bethel workers.
Also touring of Bethel will no longer take place on Saturday.
This is to enable the Bethel workers to preach according to the GB.

Not much got done on Saturday anyway. It will eliminate a fair amount of paperwork, scheduling, and comp. time crap for the reduced-sized Bethel Family. Yeah, more time for preaching... right... just like shortening the Public Talk was to allow more time for preaching.

Above is a link to one of the threads...

"...according to the GB". That's how they'll spin it, but it's actually another cost cutting measure. Drop in sales, means drop in production which means more cost to keep the equipment running if not producing.
But the Watchtower Society is unique in that it can take its production workers and turn them into sales reps in their off hours.

It's not going to make much of a difference. The old weekends were work Saturday morning, field circus Saturday afternoon and Sunday after the boasting session. The new weekends are field circus all day Saturday and after the boasting session on Sunday. Meaning 4 more hours of field circus per week.
