....the ones that are getting kicked to the curb.

Are they just taking it in stride that this downsizing is from jehover?

Do most of them still believe WT is "the truth"?

Does anyone know if these guys are starting to realize that WT has been a scam all along?

When they get put out to pasture, does WT help them find a place to live, or a job placement, etc....or do they just get put out with a bus ticket or something?

Have any of them joined this board?

First, do you want to help them cameo-d?

I can tell you that 99% of them will blame themselves. They weren’t spiritual enough. They didn’t work hard enough. Somehow Jehovah has deemed them unfit.

For the others, they may have some doubt about the WTB&TS Inc. But that doesn’t necessarily mean they don’t believe in Jehovah. Calling their God "jehover" won’t get them to respond.

I joke around allot, but if you want your target audience to respond you have to take them seriously.

Well I am an ex-Bethelite and if they had given me the boot for economic reasons I would have to ask myself why Jehovah didn't provide, I mean if the bible says he takes care of even the birds why doesn't he provide for his servants who have made the big sacrifice to serve in the house of the lord. If God can create the Universe why can't he see to it that the Bethel family gets take care of?

No I would more than a little bitter.

    C. T. actually Jehovar is just Jehovah with an East Coast accent. It was kind of a joke even when I was in the Witnesses back in the seventies. If those guys can't guys can't laugh a little about that they might as well stay in the J.W.'s

I remember one meal time at Bethel a guy from New Jersey started his noon time prayer with "Jehovar you've done it again anotha wo-o-o-ndeful day, and the whole Bethel family cracked up right in the middle of a prayer.

That is really upsetting that this event would cause them even lower self esteem rather than asking questions like RGB suggested...like "why did their god not provide" especially in providing for "his work to be done".

Is WT doing anything at all to help them adjust back into the world? Haven't many of them been there for years?

Is WT helping them find living and working placements, or just tossing them out to congregations and having them expect the congs to look after them?

it's unfortunate. Most of the ex Bethelites I speak with who still have contact with their old associattes just talk about how low morale is. Nothing like a dear friend cutting your throat. I had my issues dealing with the deception but they have it as a full dose of abandonment

You will have to be in their 'inner circle' before they reveal private feelings.

Frankly unless you have Bethelites being reassigned in your area, practically no R&F (and some COs included) are aware of the layoffs.

I think most will feel the need to keep up appearances until they are emotionally ready to examine their experience with the WTS.

Another factor is how the local congregation receives them as SPs or former Bethelites.

The ingrained 'humbleness' tends to tie up any bitterness that they rightfully feel and keeps them quiet.
