I was wondering how did the crew cut hairstyles of guys at 1950's-1960's change to the long hair hairstyles of guys in the 1970's? I love the crew haircut style, so I would not need to comb my hair at all! I shave my head completely off all by myself every one to two months, I like it, no comb needed! I thought about shaving my head off everyday, but I decided not to do it.

Pretty much regular folks stated copying the folks in the entertainment business in the 1960's, esp the Beatles.

My dad grew up in the 1950's and always had a duck tail hair cut....during the 1960's the witnesses were very obsessed with hair and outlawed beards, sideburns, mustaches, they all looked the same......and still do!!!!!!!
The Beetles came along and hair was back in style for men....just not for the JW.s JW's continued the 50's look minus the duck tail. (still the prefered style for them)....What is it? Almost 2010?
The 70's came around and it was all about hair, beards mustaches and sideburns. The longer the better.
In the 80's it was all about the short in front, and on the sides but long in back for the guys... the mullet...... and big puffy stuff for the girls with sweat bands....() all based on musicians at the time.
I married a man in 1979 with long black curly hair and a mustache. Our sons,....like their hair short .....it infuriates me because I still like longer hair on men, and someday these boys won't have any to keep short!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I keep telling them, enjoy it while you've got it
