I don't know about you, but I can't stand it anymore. Is there no privacy for anyone?

Is there no limit to the comments about divorce, affairs, death, wives, children, their homes, money earned, money squandred. drugs, booze addiction, religion....it just goes on and on.

A Celeb dies and his entire life is rehashed in 30 minutes on the web?

A politician leaves for a weekend and he has to answer to the world?

Do we not have lives and worries of our own?

Have we all been so perfect that we can sit back and watch on TV the mistakes of others and forget our own?

It's really, really getting to me.

    Whats your opinion?

Celebrities know that their lives are going to be under a microscope. Some value their privacy, and others do things publicly that demonstrate that they don't really care who knows what they do, where they do it or with whom they do it.

The people who want to be in the spotlight find a way to get there, and that gets lapped up by the people who need to know the goings on in the lives of celebrities. A perfect match, it seems to me.

I'm not a big fan of celebrity gossip. I don't buy the tabloids or Hello or People magazine, although I will occasionally watch the Biography channel if there is a piece on someone whose work I enjoy. But on the whole, I have much better things to do with my time than to catch up on the latest gossip on all the famous people.

    Bingo Scully!

I think most musicians, and actors try to keep a private life which is none of our business. Those who throw themselves "out there" In Reality shows etc., get whats coming to them, but for many others they try desperately to have a private life.

I for one don't want to see or hear about every mistake they make. I don't want to see how beautiful they are or how ugly they get....

I've got enough of my own troubles to worry about and watching someone else look and act like a spoiled brat does nothing for me.

When people are suffering thats awful too.

Cult of celebrity: it's some people's religion. I think we idolize our celebrities like some ancient cultures worshipped their very human but more than human gods.

It occurs to me that people feel that if they imitate a celebrity, they might have the same success.

    Yes....if you are a regular person (non-celebrity)

A Celeb dies and his entire life is rehashed in 30 minutes on the web?

    Yes - or 3-4 days.

A politician leaves for a weekend and he has to answer to the world?

Well, he should have left a phone number at the very least.

Do we not have lives and worries of our own?

Yes, we do. But it is up to us to value that.

Have we all been so perfect that we can sit back and watch on TV the mistakes of others and forget our own?

    Bingo!

News is a merry-go-round that we can each choose to jump on or off of as we wish. Don't blame the media - it is like blaming oxygen.
